Today's Topic - Your Past Does Not Define You
I used to be the person that lived in the past. I dwelled on it with regret and it kept me stuck for years. I realized that my past is simply a trail I've left behind and without it; I wouldn't be the me I am today. I have to believe that regardless of which turn I made in the past, the lesson I was suppose to learn would have showed up either way because I needed to learn it.
My past taught me what I wanted and didn't want. It taught me what was working and what wasn't. It taught me that I'm stronger than I thought I was. It taught me to think before I jump.
Today I when I reflect back, I have a sense of gratitude and even laugh at some of the crazy things I did. Today I'm grateful that I make better choices that have good consequences. Today I realize the progress I've made and I get to celebrate that.
