Today's Topic - Saying NO
Why is it so many of us have such a hard time saying no? I caught myself cancelling an event I said I would go to and following it up with a lie as to why. I caught myself and deleted that part of the text and simply said, "Something came up". I don't have to explain myself, it's my life, my choice.
Saying yes when we really mean no creates resentments and anxiety for us. Why do we do that to ourselves? Well, I think we all want to be liked and loved; at least that's been the case for me. Practicing saying no is healthy and empowering for us. It reminds us that we are in control of our choices and the things we choose to do. Others may not like it when we start to say no but they don't have to. It's a healthy boundary we are practicing for ourselves and for our happiness.
