Today's Topic - Being Whole
The first time I heard this quote it was Jane Fonda who said, "We are not meant to be perfect, we are meant to be whole". To me, being whole is about being messy in life. The mistakes we make and learn from make us whole, never perfect.
The way I interpret being whole is by going through hardships in life that shape who we are and make us better people. If we were perfect we would never learn anything and honestly, what fun would that be? Yes, sometimes I want the easy button but I also love a challenge to test my strength so I can prove to myself what I'm made of. I'm stronger than I think I am.
Being whole is about being happy with the imperfections in ourselves. Being whole is about self acceptance. Being whole is about loving the messy parts of ourselves that make us unique and different.
